Ubuntu Bikes Cape Town Workshop Tour
A while ago, I shared on AFAR about Ubuntu Bikes. Ubuntu Bikes is a social enterprise, creating custom bicycles and accessories, and gives local artists the opportunity to flex their skills and create something unique. A portion of each sale is then directed back into local grassroots organizations, such as BEN (Bicycle Empowerment Network). Recently, I visited their workshop in Woodstock.
A resident artist showed us what he was working on, and Jamie (the Founder), was busy prepping his own bike for the Cape Argus.
Later, I swung by Truth Coffee on Buitenkant Street to see a few more bikes on display.
My favorite bike is the Bo-Kaap, but if all that color is not your cup of tea, they also take bespoke requests. Thanks for the tour, Jamie!
