I have a confession to make this Halloween: I enjoy visiting Victorian era cemeteries when I travel. I lost all track of time and simply enjoyed the sunshine, fresh air and the sounds of the river rushing past as we navigated some five miles down the #ChemungRiver. I could have spent all day kayaking with @10milesbehindme and @katiecleod 💙 #flxwithfriends #squadgoals

One theme I couldn't help but notice as @katiecleod, @10milesbehindme and I wandered the halls of the @corningmuseum was how often glass artists incorporate optical illusions in their work. #KatherineGray's "Forest Glass" installation was my favorite example. When these found and thrifted glasses set upon towering plexiglass shelves are viewed from a distance, the outlines of three trees can be seen 🌳🌳🌳 #flxwithfriends

From the tiny sculptures to the enormous Bierstadt, the @rockwellmuseum in #Corning holds an impressive collection of American art. Most pieces in the collection were purchased (and later donated to create the museum) by late Corning residents and business owners Bob and Hertha Rockwell, mementos from their personal travels out West.
